Pablo Picasso, The Museum of Modern Art:
Due to being very inspired by the art movement of Cubism which emerged in 1907 I decided to purchase a book full of work from one of the artists who kickstarted this development, Pablo Picasso. The book that I have been reading is ‘Pablo Picasso, The Museum of Modern Art.’ which was also published by the Museum. This book consists of a huge range of paintings and sculptures by Pablo Picasso which have all been individually picked out from his collection over at The Museum of Modern Art. The book displays many of his famous paintings such as: Girl before a Mirror 1932, Self Portrait (YO) 1901, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon 1907, Three Musicians 1921 and so on. What I really liked about this book is how it includes a selection of artworks from all of his different periods that he went through from example Cubism and his Rose period.

Claude Monet, Masterpieces of Art:
One of my favorites artists of all time is Claude Monet so of course I have one of his books which has inspired me within this module. For such a long time I have been interested in Monet’s work, I believe this is due to us both using a similar technique of ‘Dabbing’. You can see Monet's dabbing method in paintings like: The Luncheon 1873, Promenade near Argenteuil 1873, Vernon Church in the Fog 1894, The Customs Officers House 1882 and many more. I believe Monet's work is the kind of art that you really do fall in love with especially due to them being all based upon true scenery, they all have such an elegant and peaceful touch to them. Every single page within the book displays a new piece of art from Monet and they’re all displayed on a large scale which allows you to see all the littlest details, I feel privileged to own such a special book.
One of my favourite paintings from Monet is a Oil painting known as 'Promenade near Argenteuil’ ,produced in 1873. The painting was surfaced on a canvas measuring 60cm x 81cm. What I love about this artwork is the use of blue tones and how it gives off such a beautiful feeling of watching this family of 3 taking a walk through a field of flowers.

Birds, Explore their extraordinary world - Angela Harding.
Another book that I have been gaining interest from is a book titled ‘BIRDS, explore their extraordinary world.’. This book has been written by a woman named Miranda Krestovnikoff and illustrated by Angela Harding who’s artist talk is where I actually purchased this book. I turned to this book for inspiration as I have been wanting to work on lino prints more within all of my modules as this technique is something I have been interested in for a while now and I am to get better at. This book has been beautifully illustrated by Angela and is so full of colour. Miranda has also done a good job writing out all of the descriptions upon the Birds which was very fascinating to read.

ALPHA:
I rather enjoy looking through a book called ‘ALPHA’ for ideas and inspiration, this book had been published in 2015 by Walker Books LTD and had been illustrated by Isabelle Arsenault. I found this book in the kids section and it is completely made up of different designs on every single page to represent the NATO alphabet. The NATO alphabet is more known as the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet which has been used ever since 1956 by emergency services. This book includes some absolutely amazing artwork which looks like they have all been done using watercolours. For Zulu she has created a talented piece of a Zulu mask which is inspiring towards my mask work.
Frida Kahlo- Little People, Big dreams:
I feel that this book inspires me mentally, this is a book all based upon the life of Frida Kahlo. The book was written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Gee. The author has included events that Frida went through which created huge impacts to her life such when she was in a car accident that left her unable to walk, this was not the only incident for Kahlo yet she still pushed through. Despite everything that Frida went through she still found the will power within herself to carry on what she loved doing the most, which was painting. Frida Kahlo inspires me to keep motivated and to always keep going no matter what.
